HELP DURING THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS
What can the Bromley community do to help those in financial crisis at this time?
Sadly, food banks in our Trussell Foodbank Network have had to respond to the pressures our community has felt during the cost of living crisis. We continue to provide support to anyone who is finding it hard to manage, which has been even more challenging as our supporters find it harder to afford to donate to us.
Record Demand in 2023
2023 was our busiest year on record with almost 8000 Bromley residents supported by the foodbank. We saw an 8% increase in clients accessing our foodbank whilst also experiencing a 30% decrease in donated stock items compared to the previous year. As a result, we have had to start purchasing stock to bridge this gap.
People who have never needed to access emergency support services in the past are increasingly turning to food banks like ours to afford the rising cost of essentials, such as food, household bills and rent costs.
Although these figures may seem daunting at first, we know from our history the positive impact Bromley Borough can make when we come together as a community and support our neighbours facing financial hardship.
