Volunteer
Volunteers are the life blood and driving force behind foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference in the life of someone in crisis.
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
Client Support & Computer User
This role involves using a computer to support clients as they arrive at the food bank. Full training will be provided, but empathy, patience, and a good listening ear are essential.
As the welcoming face of the food bank, you’ll greet clients warmly, help them feel comfortable, and offer caring, respectful support. You’ll prepare refreshments such as tea and coffee, and create a calm, friendly environment where people feel safe and heard.
You’ll also assist with computer-based tasks—whether that’s entering client information, helping clients access support services online. Your role will ensure that each person receives the support they need with dignity and compassion.
Location:Â 345 Chipperfield Rd, St Paul’s Cray, Orpington BR5 2lJ
Hours: Wednesday 9.45 AM to 1.30 PM (4 Hours per week)
