Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Food banks provide essential community services to people in crisis. By volunteering as a warehouse assistant, you will help process food donations, sorting items, ensuring they are in date, minimising wastage and packing food ready for distribution. Alongside being a voice for change in your community, you can make a real difference to people’s lives providing vital help and support in your local community.
Food banks provide essential community services to people in crisis. As a Food bank fundraising coordinator you will help play an important role in the smooth running of the food bank. This role is focused on maximising the funds raised by the food bank, and through it promoting our message and goals. This valuable role will ensure the food bank has a strong fundraising foundation, that will help shape how it operates now and in the future.
Data Protection Lead This role description has been created to accommodate a specific volunteer skill set, namely a Global Compliance with specialist skills in Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Privacy and Protection to help us ensure that as a Foodbank we uphold best practice in all areas of GDPR.
Foodbank Centre Helper (Central Orpington Centre) As a Food bank centre helper you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use food banks, meeting and greeting people coming into the food bank, packing their food parcels, making them feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate.
Foodbank Driver (Penge Centre) This role will be based at our new Penge Foodbank Centre. The times this role will take place is every Monday from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
Delivery Driver As a driver you will play a vital role to our foodbank ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community.
